Joseph Shin is an experienced patent attorney with a focus on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of technologies, including biomedical devices, pharmaceutical compounds, biotechnology, mobile devices, telecommunications, and software. In addition, Mr. Shin renders patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Before joining NK Patent Law, Mr. Shin served as an attorney-advisor to Administrative Law Judge Sandra Dee Lord at the United States International Trade Commission assisting in the adjudication of intellectual property related trade disputes. While at the ITC, Mr. Shin assisted in adjudicating many disputes spanning a very wide range of technologies. Before his time at the ITC, Mr. Shin was in private practice and litigated patent infringement suits on behalf of patent holders and accused infringers for technologies ranging from business methods, computer software, biomolecules, biomechanical systems, pharmaceuticals, electro-mechanical systems, and telecommunications systems.
